Abolish the Electoral College and Filibuster

The Electoral College is not in the Constitution. According to the National Archives, “There is no Constitutional provision or Federal law that requires electors to vote according to the results of the popular vote in their States.” Given the totality of the events of January 6, 2021, this is not acceptable (https://www.archives.gov/electoral-college/electors#why-vote). I will be a vote to abolish the Electoral College.

The Filibuster is not in the Constitution. It is a legislative practice used in the United States Senate by a minority of the senators—sometimes even a single senator—to delay or prevent parliamentary action (https://www.britannica.com/topic/filibuster). It is an Old Jim Crow Relic that was and still is most famously used to block civil rights and voter rights legislation. I will be a vote to abolish the Filibuster.
